Year 1983, while some men may have been hypnotized by the new 1983 Corniche Rolls-Royce, Dan had his eyes set on something a little different…. an oh-so slick Commodore 64 computer.  Since there was no such thing as a hard drive back then, everything was actually stored on a cassette tape.  So each time he turned on his computer, he had to load the data from a cassette tape.

Eventually, IBM came out with the PC XT 286 and only sold about 20,000 of these beauties and of course 1 out of 20,000 was owned by Dan.

His knowledge and passion continued to evolve and he soon found himself and his wife Judy involved in running a BBS (Bulletin Board System) just for fun.  Needless to say, Dan became addicted, and Judy said, “If you are going to be investing so much time in this you should be making money!”

Long story short, Dan and Judy created shareware CD’s and sold them to BBS Operators.  In those days, creating just one single master CD cost $2,000! Then $2 to $3 for each copy, talk about coming a long way.  As the Internet evolved, Dan and Judy saw an opportunity to become an ISP since that is basically what a BBS was but on a much smaller scale.  Their business then branched out to include other services such as Web Hosting.
